Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Smart Repeater processes, why it is needed, and when information leaves your device.

Data the extension processes

  • YouTube content: video title, video identifier, caption text and caption timing, used to segment, repeat, translate and display sentences.
  • Preferences: language, playback speed, repeat mode and appearance. Non-sensitive settings may use Chrome Sync.
  • Optional API keys: keys for Gemini, Groq, Anthropic and Fish Audio are stored locally on the device and are not sent to the publisher.
  • Trial-abuse prevention: a stable browser string, browser language, CPU core count, approximate device memory, time zone, screen dimensions and color depth, and a Canvas result are combined locally. They are converted on the device into a one-way SHA-256 hash. Only the hash is sent to the Smart Repeater licensing service to establish the trial start.
  • Licensing: a pseudonymous installation identifier derived from a cryptographic key, the public key, request number, plan status, and activation or verification times. The licensing service does not need your full browsing history.
  • Payment proof: the extension never uploads it automatically. It is shared only when you choose email or WhatsApp and attach it yourself.

External services

When you choose the related feature, the current caption text may be sent to one or more of these providers: Google Translate, DeepL, MyMemory, Google Gemini, Groq, Anthropic, Google Translate TTS or Fish Audio. Installation and licence metadata are sent to the Smart Repeater licensing service hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Each external provider applies its own privacy policy.

Optional Gemini, Groq, Anthropic and Fish Audio keys are used only for the request you initiate and are sent only to the provider that issued the key.

Use and retention

  • Data is used to provide repetition, translation, speech, licensing and support.
  • We do not sell data or use it for advertising or creditworthiness decisions.
  • Temporary translations and preferences stored on the device can be removed by clearing extension data or uninstalling the extension.
  • The licensing service retains installation and licence records needed to prevent trial abuse and manage subscriptions.
  • External connections use HTTPS or WSS when supported by the provider.

Your choices

You can disable translation, optional AI or Fish Audio features, remove API keys from settings, or uninstall the extension to remove its local data. To request deletion of a licence record associated with your installation, contact support and provide the request number shown on the subscription page.

Limited Use

Information received from Google APIs will be handled in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
